University of Technology, Sydney – 49131 Bridge Design
Original price was: $700.00.$350.00Current price is: $350.00.
Description
Task 1 (5% weighting) – Develop a cross section of the proposed bridge, identifying the following:
- Proposed Deck Thickness (d1).
- Proposed overall beam depth (d2).
- Proposed beam width (w1)
Reporting for this task is to include:
- Sketch of the proposed bridge deck cross section, to scale, with the above dimensions noted.
- Outline of the assumptions / criteria used to determine the above dimensions. Empirical span to depth ratios and guide notes may be used to assess dimensions.
Task 2 (15% weighting) – Develop a structural line model to analyse the proposed pedestrian bridge. As noted in the introduction, the pedestrian bridge connects to the trench walls via bearings and imposes only vertical loads onto the trench walls. In addition, the base of the column can be assumed to be fixed. In the development of the model, both SLS and ULS load case combinations are to be considered that consider the following:
- Permanent Effects.
- Live Loads.
- All other loads can be ignored.
Reporting for this task is to include:
- Summary of the combination load cases proposed to be considered in the analysis (both SLS and ULS). • Snip of the structural model.
Task 3 (10% weighting) – Develop a detailed design of the bridge using the results of the analysis undertaken in Task 2 above. Reporting for this task is to include:
- Develop a summary of results table reporting on the following:
o Reaction Loads at Trench Wall 1 & Trench Wall 2.
o Reaction Load at Base of Column.
o Maximum beam positive moments for span 1 and span 2 (for both SLS and ULS load case combinations).
o Maximum beam negative moment over the column (for both SLS and ULS load case combinations).
o Maximum column moments at top and bottom of the column (for both SLS and ULS load case combinations).
